Travels in Europe 2025

Jesse and I spent five weeks visiting family and exploring select parts of Portugal, France and the United Kingdom. In Portugal, we hiked the Fisherman’s Trail, we did a trek between refuges (big cabins) in the Pyrenees, and wandered along canals and coastline in the U.K. These are a few of my plein air paintings.

Along the Fisherman’s Trail.

A few sketchbook scenes from Evora, Portugal, and around Hungerford, England.

A pastoral scene at sunrise, near Bath.

Cabins in the Pyrenees.

It was fun painting the Bohemian home of Jean Jacques and Harriet near the Pyrenees.

The walled village of Monsaraz was picturesque. There were great views from the top of the hill to the fields, as well as interesting buildings and fortifications.

The canal in Hungerford near my brother’s home.

There was an abundance of inspiration!
